September 11th 10th Anniversary ceremony

Like other communities and organizations across the United States, Redeemer Lutheran Church in Green Bay will mark the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with a ceremony honoring those who died and those who responded.

The ceremony is scheduled at 8:30 am Sunday, September 11th on the front lawn of the church located on Oneida Street in Green Bay.

The joint effort by Ashwaubenon VFW Post 10244, the Green Bay Police Department and the Green Bay Fire Department will feature the singing of our National Anthem, the presentation of colors from the Police Department, a reading of the timetable of events of that day, the playing of taps and 21 gun salute, concluding with the singing of “God Bless America”.

Commemorating events like the 10th anniversary of 9/11 gives people the opportunity to come together as a community.  “This has affected so many lives in so many ways.  Every community throughout our nation should take the time to remember and honor the innocents and those who died to help others.” says Pastor Pett.   It’s important to connect with others who share an experience, care and compassion.

Attendees may wish to bring blankets and chairs. In case of bad weather, the event will be moved inside the church.
