Great is Thy Faithfulness!
Dear Redeemer Family,
The New Year of 2023 is upon us.
Are you thinking about making any changes in your life, promises in the form of resolutions or in the form of pledges to improve? We may have a list of all kinds of things that we would like to do or do better.
For many of us, these promises or resolutions will be mostly of a physical nature. But are you making any pledges, promises or resolutions of a more spiritual nature? Maybe something like attending in person worship services more often, start attending a weekly Bible Study, being more faithful in reading or listening to a daily devotion, or starting a regiment of reading through the Bible?
God doesn’t wait to make a promise like those just once a year. God renews them every day. Jeremiah writes in Lamentations 3:22-23(ESV), “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Think about it – He renews His love for you, His mercies for you, and His faithfulness toward you every morning!
We all know that we will not live up to all of the pledges, promises, and resolutions that we make for this new year. However, God will keep every one that He has already made to us. His love is that strong, His mercies are that great, His faithfulness that trustworthy! And if He is all these thing to us and for us, how will we want to respond toward Him?
May you be blessed to be a blessing in this new year and always!
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Paul Pett
